What ZID Is
ZID is a unique alphanumeric alias assigned to every ZWAP account. It functions as a privacy-preserving identifier in peer-to-peer transactions within the ZWAP ecosystem.
What ZID Protects
When you receive a ZWAP-to-ZWAP payment, the sender sees your ZID instead of your legal name. When you send a payment, the recipient sees your ZID. This prevents casual privacy violations — a landlord, vendor, or acquaintance does not need to know your full legal name to pay you.
What ZID Does NOT Hide
ZID is not anonymity. ZWAP maintains full KYC records as required by Nigerian law (CBN, NFIU, SEC). In response to lawful requests from regulators or law enforcement, we will disclose your identity and transaction history. ZID privacy applies to counterparty-facing records only.
